Information

River Narcea, the premier Salmon river of Spain with 1145 Salmon officially recorded caught in the 2001 season, the majority on the free stretches. Known as green Spain, Asturias is famed for its forests and mountains which rise from the coast to more than 6000 ft. Down which the crystal rivers run. The main products of the region are timber, cider, and dairy products sold throughout Spain.

Cornellana is the centre and that's where we stay.

Places of interest include the Monastery of San Salvador in Cornellana, the XVI century Palace of Doriga. and the Natural Park of Somiedo.

Salmon season, from the 17th. March to the 21st. July. Trout and Sea Trout from 12th. May to 18th. August.

How to get there.

Ferry to Santander from Plymouth with Brittany ferries from approx. £188 for 2 people return. A mini cruise and drive along the north coast. Approx 150 miles great scenery.

Fly from Gatwick to Oviedo with Iberia or B.A. approx. £300 per person return. And rent a car from £16 per day. Approx 40 minute drive to the river.
